Start) – The Spotted Ox

1 . Once parked up, walk down the road towards the Spotted Ox. Looking at the Spotted Ox go down the path to the right of the pub, the forge will be on your left, pass through the gate. And continue down the little ginnel on the right once the driveway finishes.
2. At the field turn right and follow the path around the out skirts of the field, don’t cut through the field, this isn’t a right of way.

3. At the other side of the field go through the hedge at the little passageway, onto a road names Ness Lane, watch out for machinery and cars as this road is well used and turn right, continue on this road until you reach a green metal gate, don’t go through the gate. Follow the farm track around to the left, follow this track all the way until you reach a wooden gate, go through the gate, and up to the river bank. In front of you will be the River Nidd, and an old water mill, now converted to housing at the other side of the river.
4. Follow the river bank to the left, going over several wooden stiles, continue on the river Bank for a long while, until you reach a line of willow trees straddling the river bank as it turns to the right. There will be a gate at the bottom of the river bank on your left, go thorough it and follow the line of trees/hedge across the fields.

5. Once over the fields look for the passage through the hedge and pass through the wooden gate hidden in the hedgerow. Head across the small field following the well walked path. You will then go through another gate and onto a narrow footpath, this will bring you out onto a single track road called Whinnythwaite Lane, turn left and head up the road, away from the farm house.
6. Continue down the lane to a T-junction and turn right onto Ness Lane, again watch out for machinery and cars as this road is well used.

7. Once at the end of Ness Lane you will reach Fleet Lane, turn left follow this road back to The Spotted Ox pub.
