Start) – Wetherby Moto (Wetherby Motorway Service station)
- From the service station car park, head in the direction of the exit.
- Once you are at the roundabout cross the road and head down “Racecourse Approach” for about 15 meters, then turn right by the footpath signs down Sandbeck Lane.
- Continue straight down the road passing the old Sandbeck Farm.
4. As you continue straight the road changes to a dirt path, you will reach a field follow the track around to the right, stay on this track for around a mile, you will know when you are close to the end as the path takes a 90 degree left turn away from the motorway.
5. The path will change back to a tarmac road, turn right, and head up and over York Road.
6. Crossing York Road straight ahead there is a road with a foot path on its left, follow this path parallel to the motorway.
7. Continue on this path, you will reach a cross roads, continue going straight.
8. There is a small incline follow this path until another cross roads then go straight up the hill to the main road, and cross the main road.
9. Continue down the path parallel to the motorway, for quite a while.
10. The path then gradually goes down hill and around a corner, you will then go under the motorway bridge. Continue straight and take the left fork, it can get a little muddy here.
11. Follow the river under the old A1 bridge, and continue following the river to the wilderness carpark, head across the carpark.
12. Go towards the bandstand, following the path around to the left, and under the stone bridge, the main road into Wetherby, there has been three variations of this bridge that you can see parts of today.
13. Follow the path up the hill turning right and up to the road.
14. Cross the road at the lights then turn left heading up the high street, turn right then immediately left bringing you onto the shambles, this is where you will find the public toilets
15. Continue down the shambles all the way to the Town Hall and turn right, crossing the road at the traffic lights.
16. Once over the road, turn left, and continue down the main road, passing the entrance of Morrisons, and passing Morrisons re-fuel, all the way until you reach Aldi, turn right and continue until you reach a roundabout.
17. Go around the roundabout and continue straight into the estate, head to the back of the estate, and go down the little ginnel.
18. Follow this ginnel until you reach the motorway bridge.
19. Head over the A1 and back to the services.
