Remember it’s always a good idea to have a detailed map and GPS device to help navigate the route effectively and safely.
It is Grouse Shooting Season from the 12th of August to December on Burley Moor.
Please keep dogs on leads when ground-nesting bird breeding season is happening (March to July)
The moors can be dangerous, there are Peat bogs and its easy to lose your way.

Start) – The Cow and Calf Rock Cafe

1) Head up the hill from the carpark towards the old stone quarry
Turn left at the quarry entrance and follow the footpath around to the top.
2) Head West over the moor, walk over the Backstone Beck and continue up towards Ilkley crags.
3) Continue West until you spot a well trodden path heading South. Follow this path all the way to the 12 Apostles Stone Circle, you will now be on Burley Moor.
4) Continue on after the Stone Circle watching out for a Path to the left (Dales High Way) easily missed.

If you are here you’ve gone too far. Head back up the path, looking for the path on your right.
5) Follow the Dales High Way over a stone stile. You are now on Bingley Moor. Follow the wall down the hill and then cross back over the wall on the stile closest to you. Back onto Burley Moor.
6) Follow the boundary fence on the path named the (Welcome Way). At the set of rocks, drop onto the track that heads, north west towards High Lanshaw Dam.
7)Follow the Path North back to the quarry and then drop back down to the Carpark.
